Dec. 11, 2001 - from Massimo d'Amicis
Here follows an info request about a "strange" problem with the LX, not the typical sticky mirror after many years of use.
I wish I could spread a problem with my elder LX, thus hoping to collect some data about a possible repair for the camera.
In brief, the fault is as follows: either when you manually set electronic shutter speeds (4 sec. to 1/60 sec.) or yo uset the auto operation, the shutter doesn't release. When setting mechanical speeds (1/75 sec. to 1/2000 sec.), including bulb, the shutter works properly. Metering info in viewfinder is always correct.

Judging from the fault, you could suspect a broken wire of the magnets driving the curtains in "electronic" mode. Just an idea, since the meter still works, as well as the mechanical shutter speeds.
